About
Send Da Video refers to a repeated phrase allegedly said by NBA player Anthony Edwards to a woman he got pregnant in December 2023, demanding she send him a video of herself getting abortion pills. After the woman leaked the purported DMs online, the catchphrase "Send Da Video" was joked about and memed online in various ways.
Origin
On December 17th, 2023, Instagram user dreampaige[1][2] leaked alleged DMs between herself and NBA player Anthony Edwards, alerting him she was pregnant with his child. Edwards purportedly responded with, "Hell nawl can't do dis" and "get a abortion lol" (shown below, left). Edwards later demanded she send him a video with "the box with the right (abortion) pills." He repeated "Send da video" in several texts (shown below, right).
The woman did send him the video he asked for. She also posted a screenshot of Edwards wiring her $100,000. The conversation first went viral on Twitter after user @nickiswashed[2] reposted the screenshots, gaining over 7,900 retweets and 20,000 likes in one day. Of note, Edwards' confirmed girlfriend Jeanine Robel confirmed she was pregnant on December 15th.[6]
Spread
Once the conversation hit Twitter, many users joked about the exchange, particularly the "Send Da Video" portion. For example, on December 18th, 2023, Twitter user @BoatsNHoes___[3] tweeted a clip of Anthony Edwards from an Adidas commercial as a way to joke about the phrase, gaining over 980 retweets and 3,700 likes in a matter of hours (shown below, top).
Twitter user @samstaydipped[4] joked about the quote that same day using the Kurt Angle 1,000 Yard Stare meme, gaining over 2,500 retweets and 16,000 likes in a similar time frame (shown below, bottom).

On December 18th, Edwards responded to the controversy saying he responded in "the heat of the moment" and he supported women to make their own decisions with their bodies. He said he would not comment further on the issue (shown below).[5]
