It soon became a recurring joke within the community, but some of the resulting memes made out of it have spread elsewhere. The question is often asked ironically, poking fun at the absurdity of the original question. It is also closely associated with the political ideology anarcho-capitalism, since anarchists typically believe in abolishing the age of consent. Users, mostly from iFunny, have also raided Hillary Clinton's Instagram page, spamming the meme on various posts.
