About

Who Screamed At Rebecca Ferguson Theories refers to discussions and debates that ensued after Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson revealed during a press junket for Dune 2 that she had once been screamed at on set by a top-billing costar. Internet sleuths set out to dissect her filmography in late February 2024 to figure out which actor she was referring to, with past costars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Emily Blunt denying being the subject of the anecdote, and Ferguson ruling out Tom Cruise and Hugh Jackman herself. Leading theories as of February 29th appeared to point to Michael Fassbender, Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Grant, and Alec Baldwin.

Origin

On February 27th, 2024, Rebecca Ferguson revealed in an interview that she was once screamed at by an "idiot" costar while on set. She described the actor as being "so insecure and angry" because they "couldn't get the scenes out," to the point where they began saying things like "You call yourself an actor?" and "This is what I have to work with?" to her.

She said that the actor was number one on the call sheet, meaning that there was "no safety net" for her. The next day, she says that she walked into work and had the co-star turn around so she could act to the back of their head instead of their face.
She says that the incident took place within her last 10 to 12 years of acting, and clarified that the abusive actor in question was not Hugh Jackson or Tom Cruise, who she worked with on The Greatest Showman and Mission Impossible, respectively.

Podcast host Josh Smith's video gathered over 8 million views and 25,000 likes on X[1] in two days.

Spread

Various internet users began debating about who the co-star in question could be, with a post on Reddit's /r/popculturechat on February 27th, 2024, gathering over 2,000 upvotes in two days. Redditor /u/eggeleg compiled a list of Furgeson's coworkers from the past 12 years, minus Tom Cruise and Hugh Jackman (seen below).[2]
