On TikTok recently, you may have seen that blue, embryonic monster from Courage the Cowardly Dog, the one who looks hauntingly at the camera and utters, "You're not perfect…"

Weirdly, you've also probably seen him called "Jinky Minus" or perhaps seen his friend "Gaper Bingzoid."

This bizarre character and meme certainly needs some explaining, and luckily, we're here to do just that.

What Is 'Jinky Minus'?

"Jinky Minus" is not the canonical name of that blue "You're not perfect" monster from Courage. The actual name is "Bugle Monster," and he only appears on screen for a few seconds in the series finale.

Instead, "Jinky Minus" is a made-up name in a skit by TikToker @jaycote, who in late August and early September 2024 released a series of sketches lampooning the ridiculous names of tertiary Star Wars characters.

In the third example of his sketch series, he joked about a Star Wars character named "Jinky Minus," showing the Bugle Monster on screen. Jinky Minus, however, is not a real Star Wars character.

What Are Jinky Minus Memes?

Jinky became the runaway star of Jaycote's sketch series, rivaled by "Gaper Bingzoid," who is also completely made up. Memers began joking about the two as if they were canonical Star Wars characters and made ironic edits and comments wondering which of the two would win in a fight.

The meme is similar to Glup Shitto, which also lampoons ridiculous Star Wars names. In September 2020, Tumblr user @gomjabbar poked fun at avid Star Wars fans' appreciation of minor characters by inventing the name "Glup Shitto."

Jaycote's TikTok, and ultimately the memes that came out of it, are an extension of the meme, basically creating a universe of Glup Shittos.
