Whore Male Character refers to a trend on X, former Twitter, in which fans shows a "whore male character" based on how their lips are drawn in an anime or manga. The exploitable representation of a normal lip and a "whore male character" lip sparked several jokes and comparisons on X and IFunny in early September 2024.

Origin

On February 25th, 2021, IFunny^[1] user @wubs posted the earliest known version of the exploitable meme, featuring two examples of lips drawing and the one version in which the upper lips are drawn with more detail is aligned with the "whore male character" text. The post (seen below) received roughly 124 likes and 7 comments in three years.

Spread

The whore male character grew as a popular exploitable over the next years especially among anime and manga fandoms, as fans added images to characters that match the lips drawing and descriptions of "male character" and "whore male character." For example, on September 20th, 2024, X^[2] user @peronyawns posted the exploitable alongside an image of Kuzan from the One Piece anime series, captioning "the whorest omg." The post (seen below) amassed more than 1,800 likes and 73 reposts in three days.

On April 18th, 2022, Tumblr^[3] user @mattmurdeaux posted the exploitable accompanied by pictures of the Live Actiion Daredevil TV series (seen below), amassing over 2,100 likes in two years.
