Wrist Freckle refers to a viral conspiracy theory that claims all women have a freckle on the top of their wrist.
Origin
On May 22nd, 2019, @aarynwhitley[1], tweeted, "ladies….. u got a freckle on the middle of ur wrist or is this a myth lmao" (shown below). The post which featured four pictures of women's wrists gained over 61,300 likes and 23,600 in ten days (shown below).
Spread
On May 25th, 2019, @malwestie[2] responded with a picture of her wrist saying, "Yeah this is wild (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 700 likes in a week. Many other Twitter users responded to the tweet with a freckle on their wrist like @adela_babyari[3] (show below, right). Most votes garnered over 600 likes each.
On May 30th, TikTok user @ellepaige uploaded a video showing off her wrist freckle (shown below left). The video gained over 15,200 likes and 7,900 shares in a day and started a chain of other women showing off their freckle (shown below, right).

Media outlets like Time[4], DailyMail[5] and PopBuzz[6] reported on the myth with most brushing the myth off as just a susceptible area for sun exposure.
