It's been three weeks since Twitch streamer Adriana Chechik jumped into the foam pit at TwitchCon 2022, an innocuous, celebratory stunt that would have been perfectly safe in most foam pits. However, due to the shallowness of the pit, she broke her back in two places and other attendees suffered injuries such as a dislocated knee.

The tragedy drew harsh criticism toward the event and the booth's organizers, Kairos Media, as well as a slew of memes. Over the weekend, Chechik returned to streaming to give an update on her recovery. She was able to walk and stand comfortably and showed viewers the scar on her back from the two surgeries she needed.

While her recovery seems to be going well, Chechik shared a tragic detail about the process that's since stirred up a massive backlash against Twitch.

Unbeknownst to her, she was purportedly pregnant at the time of her fall. Doctors discovered the pregnancy when they prepared her for back surgery, and Chechik revealed that the fetus was lost as a result.

Chechik bravely continued streaming as she relayed the information, but the revelation added another layer to the tragedy, and social media was both stunned and saddened by the news.

Twitch and Kairos Media have yet to comment on the injuries that took place in the foam pit, but legal experts have stated they could face significant lawsuits should the injured parties pursue legal action.
