Nintendo held a surprise mini Direct this morning, offering fans plenty of things to look forward to once the Coronavirus quarantines are over.
Among the major announcements in the mini Direct were a definitive edition rerelease of Xenoblade Chronicles, the Bioshock collection, Borderlands collection, and XCOM 2 getting Switch ports, and further details regarding the upcoming PokΓ©mon Sword and Shield DLC.
However, no Nintendo Direct of this nature would be complete without news regarding Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
The first fighter in the upcoming second Fighters Pass DLC will be coming from ARMS, Nintendo's idiosyncratic launch title fighter for the Switch. Information was scant (and packed with poor puns), but we do know a fighter from the game will be announced and available in June.
Because this is the Smash fanbase, opinions on the announcement were naturally all over the map.

Many also believed the announcement signaled a potential ARMS 2.
Mark my words, ARMS 2 is coming. There is no reason for them to promote this game now suddenly when the last update was 2017. pic.twitter.com/XYp8OXZJev
