Supposedly, at a pitch meeting some point in the past three years, a brave soul employed by the Pringles potato chip corporation stood up and proposed the company partner with Crocs to produce a Pringles-themed shoe.

This week, the world has been exposed to the consequences of that fateful pitch, embracing a piece of footwear unlike any other.

The Pringles X Crocs Classic Crush Boot "fuses flavor with fashion in a first-of-its-kind silhouette," the Crocs company wrote in a very alliterative tagline. How much do the shoes sell for? $100.

Online, some fans of Pringles and Crocs have responded to the news with enthusiasm, but most people seemed a little confused (although not necessarily disapproving) about the new product, wondering why the Crocs X Pringles boots were deemed necessary to exist in the first place.

The answer appears to be so that you can snack on a mini container of Pringles while on the move and glitz up your Crocs with an accessory considerably more impressive than any pin you could possibly stick into the front grilles of the shoes.

The brands themselves seem to be satisfied, exchanging friendly greetings in one another's comments sections on TikTok.

Singer Ashlee Simpson and her partner Evan Ross were spotted wearing the Pringles Croc boots to Coachella, recently in what some interpreted to be a bizarre celebrity marketing choice.

The couple made an Instagram post posing in the boots and feeding each other chips from the feet-holsters.

Other influencers, like Chris Olsen, are wearing the Pringles Crocs boots as well as the very online marketing campaign continues, covered by Hypebeast and other major outlets of the sneaker press.
