Last night, there were undoubtedly parents who got dragged by their teenage kids to midnight showings of the Five Nights at Freddy's movie and sat bewildered as their child freaked out over a scene in which a waiter in a diner insists "lunch" is the most important meal of the day, adding "some people say that, but you know, that's just a theory."
Parents, be confused no longer: That waiter was none other than YouTuber MatPat, one of the more influential figures online who helped make Five Nights at Freddy's a cultural phenomenon thanks in large part to his Game Theory series in which he would explore wild conspiracies about the game's lore, always ending with "But that's just a theory … a Game Theory."

MatPat and the film's studio, Blumhouse, were coy about whether he was going to cameo in the movie, though many fans expected him to make an appearance.
The reveal was an exciting moment for fans, though for the unsuspecting, getting smacked with a fourth-wall-shattering meme may have been a bewildering experience.

MatPat joined CoryxKenshin among YouTubers with cameos in the film. 8-Bit Ryan, Baz, Razzbowski, Dawko and FusionZGamer are also seen on the wall in Freddy's Pizzeria.
Markiplier, another prominent YouTuber influential to the growth of FNAF, was the subject of rumors that he would have a cameo as well, but could not appear in the film due to scheduling conflicts.
