Fortnite may soon be more than a Battle Royale, if interpretations of recent leaks are to be believed.

In May, Fortnite insider HypeX tweeted that Epic Games was developing a map for "an open-world sandbox" mode of the game, a la Minecraft. At the time, the map was released as part of the ongoing Apple vs. Epic lawsuit, and it was understood that Epic had loaded the code for the new mode into Fortnite's backend.

Yesterday, Epic Games uploaded "Saturn_Test" into _Fortnite_'s code, and it was quickly unveiled by data-miner iFireMonkey.

The picture of Fortnite characters holding weapons led those following the story to speculate the RPG mode may be coming sooner rather than later. HypeX suggested "these hint towards the open-world game mode they talked about in the Apple lawsuit but we'll have to wait and see."

We now have 2 teasers, we can see:

- Possible new weapons?
- Arrow in the back
- A giant monkey in the background
- Temple POIs/Landmarks in the back

There's obviously no confirmation of what's coming in the Fortnite pipeline as of yet, but the leaks allowed fans' imaginations to run wild.

Imagine if Epic would do a Fortnite MMORPG.

Starting Fortnite, inviting a bunch of friends, and start clearing dungeons, having fun, doing quests, getting new mounts, and leveling up your character until the sun comes up.

That would be my absolute dream and a wish come true..
