Gamers Fire Jokes At Nintendo After Company Announces 'Minecraft' Amiibo Delay

Though Minecraft Steve continues to terrorize the Super Smash Brothers community, amiibo enthusiasts will have to wait to create the Steve of their dreams, as Nintendo has announced the Steve and Alex amiibo promised last fall will be delayed.
The Steve & Alex #SmashBros #amiibo were previously announced to launch in spring 2022. However, due to a logistics and production delay, unfortunately the release timing has been delayed to later in 2022. pic.twitter.com/388tqS5XQd

Nintendo has been producing amiibo of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate characters since the game's inception. The amiibo are collectible figurines and Smash players can use them to train a unique A.I. fighter in the game.
While a slight production delay isn't particularly noteworthy by itself, it struck many players as hilarious that Nintendo was forced to delay production on Steve and Alex amiibo considering that the characters are literally blocks.
If only their designs weren't so complex and difficult to produce https://t.co/BcYhhGzGLb

The Steve and Alex amiibo are simply too complicated https://t.co/PvMK0gJUbF

Nintendo didn't give a more in-depth reason as to why the Steve and Alex amiibo are delayed, but some joked that the more-intricately designed Min Min amiibo, initially slated to release alongside Steve and Alex, was too complicated to give Nintendo time to mash six blocks together.
I think it's hilarious that the Min Min figure is ready and primed but the model made from 6 rectangles is having issues. https://t.co/epzxZkEeIM

Amiibo collectors will have to wait until later this year to get their mitts on Steve and Alex, but considering the length it's taking to get these amiibo out, those wanting Sora are likely going to have a long wait ahead of them.
