HBO Announces Black And White Snyder Cut 'Justice League Justice Is Gray'
What color is justice? Is it red? Green? Oh, how about violet? Wrong!
According to HBO Max and Zack Snyder, Justice Is Gray.
In an apparent victory lap following the release of the four-hour-long Zack Snyder's Justice League, which debuted on HBO Max last Thursday, the film's Twitter account warned that a new, black and white version of the film was coming: Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Grey. So at least, that questions were answered.

Snyder has been teasing a black and white version of the film since 2019. Way back in the early days of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement, long before the anthem to Unite the Seven hit YouTube, Snyder began posting black and white images from the film on Vero. Vero, if you remember, is a social media app, presumably only used by Snyder to keep fans abreast about new versions of the Snyder Cut.
The director and HBO didn't let up on the promise of determining justice's color in 2020. Last November, Snyder tweeted the first trailer for the Snyder Cut sans reds, greens and blues. An answer was coming.

Earlier this year, the director officially confirmed a black and white version of the film. Appearing on the I Minutemen YouTube channel, Snyder said, "We're finishing right now the black and white version of Justice League. It's called the Justice Is Gray Edition. That's what I call it."
_ Zack Snyder's Justice League_ is already a marvel of technical specifications handed down by the director. HBO presented the movie in one, four-hour chunk, which, had it been released in cinemas, means it would tie with Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet as the longest major studio theatrical release in history. Snyder also used a 4:3 aspect ratio, creating vertical letterboxing on the sides of widescreen TVs to mimic the footage shot on IMAX. Adding black and white to the mix, Snyder is one step away from giving the film the gravitas he believes it deserves. Say what you will about the guy, but he's very determined to make this movie look like it's important.
A release date for Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Grey has yet to be confirmed, giving you plenty of time to block out four-hour intervals on your calendar.
