The deeply weird class of rich celebrities stung by Operation Varsity Blues, the college admissions bribery scandal which caught Full House actress Lori Laughlin and Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman forging records for their children in order to get them into good schools, has another member who hasn't been talked about much. Until now.

That would be Michelle Janavs, billionaire heiress to the Hot Pockets fortune, who is set to be sentenced today for her participation in the scheme. Janavs pleaded guilty in October of 2019 to paying $300,000 as part of the scheme, pretending her daughter was a volleyball recruit to get her into USC. Prosecutors are seeking 21 months in prison, three years of supervised release, a fine of $175,000, and 250 hours of community service.

Her participation in Operation Varsity Blues was widely a footnote in the overall story until today, when news articles began including Janavs' full title, "Hot Pockets Heiress" in their headline. That alone caused Twitter users to take notice.

One wonders if Miss Janavs doesn't think her father, the inventor of Hot Pockets, will be too pleased to hear about this.
