Jay Leno and a tweet about his crash.

Freshly out of the hospital after sustaining burn injuries from a fire while working under one of his vehicles earlier this month, Jay Leno went for a drive to get to his first gig since the injury, only to end up with another vehicular disaster.

Leno, an avid car enthusiast, hit a police car twice while driving yesterday, leading to a lot of attention and scrutiny being placed on him and his reported medical condition. Many are now calling for him to be rehospitalized following news of his accident as the viral video rapidly spread online.

While Jay Leno didn't blame the Tesla's autopilot feature for his crash, the story of a Tesla crashing into a cop car was enough to reignite interest in a string of isolated incidents involving Tesla's crashing into police cars while in autopilot, creating the sentiment that the company's self-driving AI may in fact be ACAB.

This sentiment was shared in the comments under numerous memes and news stories of Tesla vehicles hitting cop cars (some even stationary) while Autopilot was engaged, with calls to stan Tesla taking place among some users. Others also noted the several accidents involving Teslas crashing into police vehicles as "accidentally based."
