The chicken sandwich wars are just getting started.

Tired of sitting on the sidelines, Kentucky Fried Chicken shot back against Popeyes and Chick-fil-A, who had been sucking up headlines with their chicken sandwich feud since August, with a sugary spin on the double down: A chicken sandwich that substitutes doughnuts for bread.

On Monday, KFC began testing two new chicken and donut combo meals. The first, a spin on chicken and waffles, is a simple basket of fried chicken and a doughnut. However, the Colonel is more interested in promoting the second option: a fried chicken patty sandwiched between two glazed doughnuts.

No word yet as to whether you have to sign a waiver to order.

The sandwich meals will run you about $6, with the chicken-doughnut basket costing $5.49, and the sandwich: $5.99 and the use of your heart for several minutes.

Before you go rushing out to ruin your day, the sandwich is only available in three locations as of now: Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Needless to say, people on Twitter want this thing, or more specifically, they want to make jokes about it:
