While baseball may not always be the most exciting sport, every once in a while something a little extracurricular happens that reminds fans why it's America's pastime. Such a moment happened last night when Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber got ejected against the Milwaukee Brewers with a masterful tirade against home plate umpire Angel Hernandez.

Schwarber's ejection was swift and spectacular. After getting called out on strikes on a 3-2 count in the bottom of the ninth with his team down 1-0, Schwarber slammed his helmet to the ground and unloaded on Angel Hernandez, saying his piece forcefully before heading to the showers. Schwarber's frustration was building through the course of the night, as he clearly makes the point that Hernandez's strike zone had screwed hitters on both teams throughout the night. Clips from the game show Hernandez calling strikes on pitches that were frankly not even close to the strike zone.

The post-game analysis confirmed that Hernandez turned in the worst job by a home plate umpire in all the games played yesterday, accurately calling a mere 85 percent of balls and strikes.

All of this led to Schwarber exploding in a crucial situation when he was called out on strikes on a pitch that should have been ball four, making him the tying run for his team. While getting thrown out for arguing as a team's star player is generally frowned upon, baseball fans agreed that Schwarber was entirely justified in his tantrum.

Some even took to crafting memes of the situation.

For his part, Hernandez seems aware of just how much he ticked off Philadelphia last night. While he was driving away from the stadium, a fan ran up to his car and shouted "Angel Hernandez, you stink and I don't like you!" Hernandez responded with a massive trollface of a grin.
