Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina saw an opportunity to make a joke about her sexual activity and took it during – of all times – a prayer meeting led by Republican Senator Tim Scott.
Nancy Mace at Tim Scott's prayer breakfast:
"I woke up this morning at 7, Patrick my fiancé tried to pull me by my waist in bed and I was like 'no baby we don't have time for that this morning' I gotta get to the prayer breakfast… He can wait. I'll see him later tonight." pic.twitter.com/LzAJ5M84P1— Greg Price (@greg_price11) July 27, 2023
Speaking to a room full of Christians, Mace explained that her fiancé attempted to pull her close in the morning, but she brushed him off saying, "We don't have time for that, I gotta get to the prayer breakfast."
The humorous anecdote landed awkwardly in the room and riled up some of her conservative critics on social media, who were aghast that Mace was openly discussing the premarital copulation she has with her partner at a prayer breakfast.
Others seemingly had to hand it to Mace, as many found that even though they disagree with her politically, they respected the chutzpah necessary to open a prayer breakfast with an anecdote about almost "getting it on" before attending.
