MrBeast, YouTube's biggest star, is no stranger to conspiracy theories, and has responded to a couple wild ones over the past week.

The first is that he has sold his YouTube channel to Disney for a jaw-dropping $5 billion. This is not true.

The rumor started after a clip from The Iced Coffee Hour podcast spread online out of context. In the clip, hosts Graham Stephan and Jack Selby joke with their guest, and prank them by saying MrBeast sold the channel to Disney for the exorbitant sum. The clip spread on Twitter out of context, leading to shocked reactions.

Early yesterday morning, MrBeast issued a categorical denial, saying "Disney does not own any part of my channel," and the rumor was proven to be false.

Meanwhile, a second conspiracy began spreading about MrBeast and his ties to powerful political figures.

Last week, MrBeast gave a fairly milquetoast take on money in politics, saying politicians shouldn't have insider knowledge about the market that they could potentially act upon to make a profit. He deleted the tweet shortly after.

The tweet reminded many of Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic former Speaker of the House who was the subject of controversy after backing a rule allowing congresspeople to purchase stocks. Then Ashley St. Clair, a conservative influencer who last went viral for making fun of Ron DeSantis' boots, did some digging and found that Pelosi's nephew Andrew is a talent manager at MrBeast's agency. She suggested that MrBeast deleted his tweet because he got in trouble with his agency for criticizing Pelosi.

MrBeast denied that he was pressured to delete his tweet due to it potentially criticizing Pelosi. He claimed he had no knowledge of who Andrew Pelosi is and insisted his agency does not control what he expresses on social media. He also stated he doesn't think Pelosi should have access to insider market knowledge and be allowed to trade stocks.

MrBeast has been in the news often this week, as in addition to the recent conspiracies surrounding him, he made headlines by calling for an end to the "Overstim" era of YouTube content that many believe he fostered.
