Neopets Announces Planned Revival Of The Brand With New Game, Updates To Website, And TCG Expansion
Fans of the iconic brand and browser game Neopets, which in the early 2000s had more website traffic than Google, were delighted to hear that the brand is now planning a revitalization.
Over the past decade, the brand has been managed by the developer JumpStart Games, which officially dissolved on June 30th, leading to the IP being in limbo.
Earlier today, it was finally announced via a Medium post and YouTube video what took place behind the scenes, and what to expect for the future.
The brand, which saw a significant decline since it was acquired by JumpStart Games, is now under the new leadership of the "World of Neopets" team, consisting of former players and developers, who are using $4 million of raised investment funds to create new content on the website, fixing several issues that came from the death of Adobe Flash, and reinstating old game modes.
Plans to host monthly AMAs and push out a continuation of the 2003 card game in 2024 were also announced alongside the news.
Any questions? 🤔 Beginning in August, we’ll host regularly scheduled live AMAs where you can ask your burning questions and get your answers straight from TNT. 🧨

While many Neopians were hyped following the announcement, there was also a growing sentiment of panic among those who either didn't realize they still had a Neopets account or those who knew they had one long ago and are now scrambling to get their pets back.
