Pokémon Stream Announces October 22nd Release For Crown Tundra DLC, Introduces World To Bump Of Chicken

Pokémon dropped a surprise stream about the upcoming Crown Tundra DLC this morning, delivering a bucketload of news including its release date: October 22nd.
Crown Tundra is the second and final announced installment of Sword and Shield, following last Spring's Isle of Armor. It will bring players to the titular wintry region, where they'll find Galarian variations of Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos as well as plenty of Ice-type Pokémon from previous generations left out of the base game. Other old Legendary Pokémon such as Tapu Koko, Suicune, Latias, and others were shown off in Dynamax battles, part of a "Dynamax Adventure" feature introduced in the DLC. The player will also be able to do Doubles battles with gym leaders and other significant trainers from the base game.
However, the Crown Tundra trailer was only one part of the stream. The stream concluded with an animated music video collaboration between the Pokémon team and the Japanese rock band Bump of Chicken. The video is akin to a Pokémon anime OP if the animé was about the player-character throughout the games instead of Ash. It's a blast of nostalgia as major battles and characters from the game series come to life.
Though some people were excited about the new features announced for Crown of Tundra, the video clearly stole the show on Twitter.

Though fans have had a mixed-at-best reaction to Sword and Shield, the power of Bump of Chicken's video shows just how much of a grip Pokémon has on the hearts of its fans.
