Keemstar Is a Bald Retard refers to a viral post made by a hijacker of streamer Ninja's X / Twitter account in February 2020. In late 2023, a screenshot of the post achieved virality online, with the line having been repeatedly used as an insult against influencer, podcaster and streamer KEEMSTAR since.

Origin

On February 22nd, 2020, streamer Ninja's X / Twitter account was hacked for a brief period of time.^[1] During that period, the hacker made several posts, including self-promotions, shoutouts and offering to fight streamer Tfue. One post insulted YouTuber KEEMSTAR, calling him "a bald retard." The post had garnered over 1,000 reposts and 5,800 likes before the account was recovered (shown below).

Spread

Prior to December 2023, the post saw limited spread online. On May 23rd, 2020, an unknown Redditor posted a screenshot of the post in the /r/Deji^[2] subreddit, where it received over 180 upvotes. On September 12th, iFunny^[3] user Tohru_Adachi posted the earliest meme based on the post, an image of Mr. Krabs from SpongeBob SquarePants admiring a framed picture of the post hanging above the fireplace, gathering over 4,000 smiles in two years. On October 11th, 2022, Instagram^[4] user biggest_thumb reposted the meme, with the post garnering over 380 likes in two years.

On December 29th, 2022, X^[4] user @Epsilon________ quoted a post by KEEMSTAR with the Mr. Krabs meme, with the quote post gaining over 3,400 reposts and 45,000 likes in one year (shown below, left).

The meme achieved virality in December 2023 after on December 5th X^[5] user @travisscottswag made a since-removed post with the image, quoting KEEMSTAR's post about the Grand Theft Auto VI protagonist Lucia (shown below, right).

Following the viral post, the tweet and memes based on it achieved virality as a way to insult KEEMSTAR online. Additionally, the post has been humorously referenced in memes online.
