Snyder Cut Movement Sets Its Sights On Restoring The 'SnyderVerse'

When Warner Bros. studios announced that they would bring Zack Snyder back to recut and finish his aborted version of Justice League, it was an unprecedented moment in fan culture. How often do studios give a filmmaker $70 million to make an already-finished $300 million movie? Pretty much never.
Fans will meet on the fields of victory next week when Zack Snyder's Justice League premieres on HBO Max. It's the culmination of a near-four year effort to see the film in its original form. For the last half-decade, Snyder, who left the project due to a family tragedy, teased more footage and unrealized story arcs, feeding an online movement that seemingly took over DC fandom ever since. Now, fans will finally get to see what all the hype was about.
But the saga isn't over.
When Justice League was first announced, the tagline "Unite The Seven" came with it, hinting at a fully-formed DC universe that would go unseen. While we still see some hints of that universe, mostly through Snyder's casting decisions, which include Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Jason Mamoa's Aquaman, many elements have been tossed aside. Fans would like to see that original universe, please.
Since June of last year, the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement has been picking up steam, calling on Warners to do for the rest of Snyder's vision that they did for Justice League.
This version needs to be seen. For the directors, for the cast and crew, for the fans who loved the original Snyderverse. This is a part of righting those wrongs. Let’s finish the job and #ReleaseTheAyerCut and #RestoreTheSnyderverse on

Calls for the SnyderVerse's restoration have slowly trickled in, reaching a fever pitch today on Twitter, where fans are lamenting all the things they believe they're missing out on. Early positive reactions from Snyder's friends and collaborators are feeding the fire.
About to turn this world to dust 🤘

Even some of the stars are of Snyder's original Justice League believe that the release of the new cut could breathe new life in Snyder's lost universe. In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Joe Manganiello, who played Deathstroke for Snyder, hinted at some "little irons that are in the fire."
Will Superman reverse the rotation of the Earth enough to revive this lost superhero franchise? It really depends on whether audiences other than Snyder's base are willing to sit through all four hours of his movie next week. Maybe there are enough children of Martha to give his universe a second chance.
