Sonic Team Is Going To Turn Sonic Into A VTuber

Just when you thought you'd seen it all from Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega is reportedly working on the next frontier for the furry blue rodent: VTubing.

According to blogger Ryokutya2089 (and translated by Siliconera), the Sonic Team is working to make Sega's most popular character into a virtual YouTuber. As of this moment, the news is still just a rumor based on information from a to-be-released issue of Famitsu, which features interviews from Sonic producer Takashi Iizuka and art director Kazuyuki Hoshino. Hoshino has reportedly stated that he hopes that fans will enjoy the new opportunity to "communicate with Sonic in real-time." Hoshino also hopes a Sonic theme park could be created in light of the 2020 film's success.

Fans will have to wait until tomorrow to see if the information is accurate, but as the rumor spread online, fans were quick to imagine Sonic as a VTuber.
