While we hate to burst everyone's bubble, it is our journalistic duty to inform you that a photo of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell looking like former WWE character Paul Bearer is a hoax.

Mike Lindell and Paul Bearer

"Paul Bearer" is, at the time of writing, trending on Twitter / X due to the flurry of comparisons a supposed picture of Lindell is drawing to the former wrestling star. Lindell's sunken eyes, haggard mustache and ghastly complexion make him a dead ringer, no pun intended, to The Undertaker's former manager.

However, the picture comes from known troll @GaryPetersonUSA, whose gimmick is photoshopping himself next to pictures of prominent Republican figures and editing those figures to look foolish.

Peterson's Lindell job

Peterson recently went viral with a similar stunt, photoshopping himself gifting Donald Trump a painting of Melania Trump, though the former President doesn't look too pleased about it.

As pointed out in the Community Notes beneath the tweet, the picture is an edit of a post by user @ManicaAlan, who actually did gift Trump a less cartoonish picture of Melania, and Trump is wearing his typical smile.

While it's unknown what photo was edited to make Gary Peterson's post, there is clear evidence of Photoshop in the background details of his image. For example, a very tiny bear and a very tiny cat are shopped into the image's background.

Before this hoax, Lindell had drawn comparisons to Paul Bearer and likely will draw more in the future. However, at least in this instance, he's not as literally dead as the viral gag would suggest.
