The Undertaker is the ring name of retired American professional wrestler Mark William Calaway, who is known for performing horror-themed gimmicks during wrestling matches and for winning an unprecedented 21 consecutive victories in WWE's WrestleMania event. He is a four-time WWF/WWE Champion, a three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and the winner of the 2007 Royal Rumble event.

In 1984, Calaway debuted as wrestler Texas Red in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW). In 1989, Calaway signed on to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under the ring name "Mean Mark" Callous. In 1990, Calaway debuted in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as the Undertaker, a trench coat-wearing character depicted as a western mortician. Over a span of 27 years, the Undertaker has gone through various changes in his character gimmick, from his first Deadman persona from 1994-1996, to The Lord of Darkness persona from 1996-1999 during the Attitude Era, to his American Badass persona during the Ruthless Aggression era, and finally to his current Deadman persona. Undertaker has won several different championships in his career; in April 2007, the Undertaker won his first World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Batista at WrestleMania 23. Undertaker is best known for The Streak, which refers to the string of continuous victories he's had at every WrestleMania event since his debut.

On April 6th, 2014, the Undertaker was defeated by Brock Lesnar during WrestleMania 30, much to the shock of many. This marked Undertaker's first loss at a WrestleMania, and thus, the end of The Streak.

On April 2nd, 2017, the Undertaker was defeated by Roman Reigns during WrestleMania 33, after which he left his gloves, hat and coat in the center of the ring, leading many to speculate that he had gone into retirement.
