TikToker Localtumbleweed Goes Viral For Gracefully Dealing With A Rude Hotel Customer In Viral Video

TikToker and Holiday Inn Express employee Localtumbleweed is going viral across social media after uploading a video where she's confronted by a rude customer about his reservation and handles it like a pro.

Localtumbleweed uploaded the video to TikTok on Monday, where it has gained over 29 million views in a day. In the video, she is mid-argument with a man who booked his suite through a third-party booking app, Booking.com.

The suite has one king-size bed and a pull-out bed couch. The customer wants a room with more beds and he wants Localtubmleweed to do something about it. Unfortunately, the hotel is fully booked, resulting in three minutes of arguing with no clear solution.

Throughout the video, the man demands localtumbleweed do something about the reservation but she keeps insisting that the hotel is fully booked. He even suggests swapping his reservation with another person's reservation, asking, "Who hasn't checked in and what else is available with more beds?"

She says that he can either cancel his reservation or take the room but he isn't happy with either choice. He then tries to guilt the employee, saying, "What do you expect us to do?" and suggests his family will have to sleep in the car if they can't get another room.

At one point, a third-party observer gets involved and suggests that the kids sleep on the pull-out couch, but the family man tells him that it's "none of his business."

At the end of the video, localtumbleweed says they cancel the reservation. It's revealed in a second part of the video that that's exactly what they did, although not before the man purportedly spits on the hotel floor repeatedly in anger.

Localtumbleweed explains the situation in greater detail in a follow-up video posted to TikTok that same day.

In the video, she says that the man originally made a reservation through the hotel for a room with two queen beds and a pull-out couch, then canceled it because it was too expensive. He then booked the room with the king bed and pull-out through Booking.com. She explains how she can't do anything to rectify problems with booking through third-party apps.

Commenters are largely praising localtumbleweed for her professionalism in dealing with the customer. Throughout the situation, she never raises her voice or loses her temper and manages to deal with the problem with as little escalation as possible.

She's also receiving similar praise on Twitter where the video has been shared to over 4 million views and 122,000 likes in a tweet reading, "I'm SO glad I'm not in customer service anymore. I simply don't have this type of patience anymore."
