Prominent trans YouTuber and former Twitch streamer Keffals, aka Clara Sorrenti, posted a video this afternoon in which she says she was arrested on August 5th after a swatting attempt was executed by her trolls.

"On August 5th, I was woken up by London Police Services, pointing an assault rifle in my face in my home," she said in her YouTube video. "I was later told that at 6 AM, that morning, an email impersonating me was sent to every city counselor in London, Ontario stating that I killed my mother, I have an illegal firearm, and I plan to go to city hall and shoot every cisgender person I see. I was shown the email while I was being interrogated at the station and still in police custody."

Sorrenti states that police were given tips about her using her deadname and proceeded to continue using the deadname throughout their interrogation last Friday. Sorrenti, her mother and her brother spoke to Vice about the incident. Her mother and brother were both questioned by police and vehemently insisted the tips were false.

Her brother Brandon had also previously spoken with the London, Ontario police to alert them that there was a possibility Clara could be swatted. He alerted them that Clara's address had leaked, but police said that they could only intervene in the event that someone made a concrete threat of bodily harm to her. "Wishing bodily harm" towards her did not qualify.

Sorrenti was released with no charges but says police have confiscated her cellphone, her hard drive and the hard drive of her fiancé until "forensic analysis" can be completed on them, a process she is told could take months.

In the description of her YouTube video, she linked to the transcript of her video, photos of evidence bagged by the police and the search warrant. She also linked to a GoFundMe she created to "move immediately, recoup my losses and to build a legal fund to protect my rights."

Many online were shocked by what happened to Sorrenti, voicing concern about what many expressed appeared to be an intense, transphobic and potentially life-threatening attack.

Keffals grew in fame online for publically ratioing TERFs online, but has also drawn the ire of some, particularly those in Kiwi Farms and similar forums centered around mocking online celebrities, who have taken issue with her outspoken opinions about transgenderism.

One month ago, she was banned from Twitch after what she claims was her trolls mass reporting her for having a slur she was called prominent in a thumbnail for one of her streams.
