Nickelodeon All Star Brawl is certainly shaping up to be… something. In a gameplay reveal posted yesterday that had some fans excited and others concerned, the presentation showcased something very internet-friendly: one of the all-time classic SpongeBob memes, Mocking SpongeBob, is in the game.

Yes, SpongeBob's taunt is Mocking SpongeBob, the aLtErNaTiNg CaPiTaL lEtTeRs meme that took over the internet in 2017. Some have argued that Patrick's idle pose, showing him snoring is also a reference to a meme, though 'Snoring Patrick' is a footnote in meme history compared to Mocking Spongebob.

Clearly, these are treats for fans, but it opens up the possibilities of what other memes might sneak their way into All-Star Brawl. Could we see a reference to the biggest bottles when Makorra happens? Or perhaps an "All on account of those turtles" reference? Time will tell: All-star Brawl still doesn't have a release date.
