Thank Christ I'm not the only that hated Sam. She was definitely not a character that aged well. Constantly on a high horse and belittles everyone else that doesn't want to live her Draconian lifestyle, doesnt give a crap about regular Danny, and generally being a prototype SJW, rewatching this show has been infuriating because of her.

Also, they forgot the best goth:

Yeah Sam was more of a hippie than goth, but hey she rocked that prom dress. At times she could be a real "Soapbox Sadie" (a la modern Lisa Simpson) but I never really hated her, though I admit there were maybe one or two episodes where that character trait got annoying (like wasn't there one where she forced the school to use an all vegan menu? I remember that was one time I actually rather disliked her). Also I'd say Marie from EEnE was more "punk" IMO. (also this is missing Creepie from "Growing Up Creepie" and from Ruby Gloom you could say Ruby is "Perky Goth" while Misery is more "depressed goth")

Also aside from Lydia from Beetlejuice, notice how most of these girls come from 00s cartoons? Last decade was pretty big on goth and emo thanks to MTV giving more airtime to bands that were either legit emo at one point or another, or were really pop-punk bands that they labeled "emo" despite said bands hating the label (My Chemical Romance and Panic at the Disco both hated being labeled "emo," MCR was more pop-punk and Panic tends to be more "baroque pop"). [A good example of bands that lean more towards goth or emo would be stuff like The Birthday Massacre, Jimmy Eat World, a bunch of EBM groups like Project Pitchfork, classics like The Cure and Bauhaus, and most any band that does dark wave]
