About
Danny Phantom is an American cartoon series created by Butch Hartman and broadcasted on Nickelodeon. The series follows the exploits of Danny Fenton, who after crossing accidentaly a portal between this world and a supernatural world, becomes half-ghost and saves the world from ghost attacks.
Premise
The series follows the exploits of the 14-year-old Danny Fenton (voiced by David Kaufman), who lives with his ghost-hunters parents Maddie and Jack (voiced by Kath Soucie and Rob Paulsen) and his 16-year-old sister Jasmine "Jazz" (voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey). After being pressured by his friends Samantha Manson (voiced by Grey DeLisle) and Tucker Foley (voiced by Rickey D'Shon Collins) to explore a portal to the Ghost Zone, a ghostly parallel universe of Earth, created by his parents and accidentaly activating the portal, his DNA fuses with ectoplasm, transforming him into a half ghost boy and giving him powers like flying or becoming invisible. Soon, he'll start using his new powers to protect his town from Ghost Zone inhabitants, facing with other threats like ghosthunters and having to keep his powers as a secret.
History.
Danny Phantom was first premiered on April 3, 2004 on Nickelodeon, and ended on August 24, 2007, after three seasons and 53 episodes. On June 23rd, 2015, Butch Hartman posted on his twitter account a Danny Phantom drawing, starting a series of rumors about a possible reboot or remake of the series.[2]

Reception
Danny Phantom has been nominated up to 5 times on the Annie Awards editions from 2006, 2007 and 2008, and won the BMI Cable Award on the BMI Film & TV Awards edition from 2004. The series earned a rating of 7,2 on IMDb.[9]

Dannypocalypse
Dannypocalypse is an annual event recognized every April 3rd, primarily on Tumblr, in celebration of Danny Phantom's premiere date. Dannypocalypse was started by Tumblr user narwhalsarefallingfirst in 2017. Those who celebrate are encouraged to change their profile pictures to a specific image of Danny staring forward and to make as many memes and pieces of fan art about Danny Phantom as possible, with many using the image of Danny staring.
