Alright! Time to write a female character for my video game! Hmm, alright. Let's see I guess I can't Make her a villain, because that means that I would be portraying women in a negative misogynous tone Make her overly attractive because I would be perpetuating the stereotype that only attractive women are heroic. This would also promote sexual objectification of women. Make her ugly because then I'd be saying that only unattractive women can get things done I'd also make unattractive women feel bad instead of empowering them - Make her the sidekick of a male character, because that would imply that she's subservient to his whims, and that she is not equal. Make her the sidekick of a female character because that would imply that women cannot work together, or that one is more equal to the other 剭 Make her the hero, because that would just be a male 'fantasy'. Having her kick ass and win the day would just be enforcing negative stereotypes. - Make her strong and willful and muscular because that would mean I'm just making a male character with breasts. which women find offensive since it rejects femininity Make her girly, feminine and sensitive, because that would mean that women cannot be strong, independent and powerful. Make a female character at all because no matter what I do, feminists will ALWAYS bitch about any aspect they can dig out of the box, because it is their hobby and that's what they do for a living, claiming to be oppressed by the "patriarchy" while women in a few 3rd world countries are truly subjected to discrimination SOLUTION: Something like the examples provided below: (The legend of the last princess) (Towel Fall) (Sword & Sworcery) (Beyond Good and Evil) I'm not entirely sure what makes these characters stick out as positive in terms of their roles and designs, but these female characters are actually seen as positive even by those normally thought to be unpleasable. We should analyze/study them so we can figure out what makes them not offensive to feminists. Then perhaps it would be easier to create female characters who are innovative and progressive in terms of designs and portrayal for better female representation in video games It is possible to make non-offensive female video game characters; you just need to try harder Never underestimate the creativity the human mind is capable of and don't be afraid to think outside the box. There is no need to change the characters we already have, but maybe it's time try to create new kinds of characters for a modern audience regardless. But if you wish to create your own characters your own way for your own personal project and design them the way you want: That's fine, no one can stop you. u create something for everyone, you s hould do exactly that. Kee p as many people's interests But when yo in mind as you can and be considerate that there are more people you can satisfy than just your own usual target demographic.

sigh Why? Just: WHY? You have written yourself that "keep as many people's interrests in mind as you can", so WHY should a creator make special female characters just so they can be accepted by the radical part of a movement?

Yes, for the RADICAL part of a movement! Most Feminists won't complain if you make evil/good/beautiful/ugly etc. female character, because feminists just want to have the same rights / the same place as males. Just the more RADICAL part of them are NEVER really pleased and will complain that a evil/good/beautiful/ugly etc. female character is "bad"/sexists etc.
