A strange, funny, and heartrending game about a little kid in a striped shirt and the ragtag band of friends they make along the way. Cast includes: our hero; their loving motherly figure separated from them soon after the beginning and her tormented former husband; music-loving ghost(s); a funny comic relief duo (both whom are much stronger than they look); a badass, short-tempered, red-haired warrior girl; a regretful scientist responsible for creating horrific hybridizations of living creatures; a fabulously-posing boss (as in the enemy type) who will make your last living moments as flamboyant as possible; a cruel, emotionless villain who interrupts at the most boneheaded moments and turns out to be the son of the motherly figure, brought back to life as an emotionless creature who regains their humanity in their last living moments, and said villain's true, absolutely terrifying master who represents the flaws and vices of the player and humanity in general. Known for its amazing soundtrack and story; holds many recurring motifs such as repetitions of certain songs/musical phrases and repeated imagery of yellow flowers (sometimes feels-inducing). Famous for its ability to snap between different moods very quickly as well as its heartbreaking ending.
And there's a guy with an obnoxious laugh who loves food with a funny-sounding name.
And of course, the most important character of all… the dog
