Most people don't trust others when it comes to showing them their feelings, beliefs, tastes, life goals, etc. so they tend to keep all of this to themselves. Probably because those other people they opened up to didn't share the same thoughts as them, showed their disagreement in a really bad way, or just didn't give a damn even after all the effort they put in letting them know something about their true selves.
