If it can't even make up the cost to make the movie and a majority of early views were by lone viewers, I think its safe to say it was a failure.

DID it even make its budget yet a week after? I don't think it did. To be fair the original Ghostbusters didn't make their money back either in ther opening weekend though considering inflation and movie tickets being lower. Even Star Wars a new hope wasn't the biggest box office hit in opening weekend it still made its money.
I highly doubt the new GB will make much more money considering it's been one week and looking at the stats it doesn't look too good.
