So that I don't have to spell it out in a comment to an angry pro-Sanders guy, yes, he was cheated. And yes, he had a strong chance to win the electorate over had the party and news outlets not chose to undermine his position.
But he still lost, and he still won't have the backing to run, even if the case progresses. So there was only really one thing to do, because splitting the "Democrat" vote only leads to one thing.
