But I have an idea similar to yours as to how the series might end. Aku still should have the ability to send people to the future, and may have to use that power again should he be forced to. And in that moment, Ashi might force Jack out of the way, sacrificing herself to being sent to an even further future instead of Jack Jack then lands the final blow, and with Aku out of the way finds a way to travel time at will.
