Y'know, I gotta praise Persona 5 for being the first Persona game to make me care about each and every Social Link/Confidant in some way. Even Mishima, tho he can be a shithead, made me sympathize with him. It's nice, considering I didn't give a damn about any of the social links outside of important characters in P4 and a select few outside of them in P3.

My favorite part is the bonuses you get from the links advancing. Not just because they make the game easier, but because they often relate to the specific things you're doing with the Confidants. Like, during Ann's link, when her modeling rival used fake crying to get her way and Ann decided it would be useful to learn stuff like that, it unlocks the Crocodile Tears ability. They actually put thought into how a character naturally comes to share/learn their new skills.
