Was it rushed? Sure. Pacing is a rather difficult thing to accomplish in 10 episodes. Are there still unresolved plot points?Sure. But I think that at the crux of this issue is people believing that Jack "deserved" to be happy. You see, that's the thing about happiness. To quote the movie Unforgiven "Deserve ain't got nothin' to do with it. People believe today that happiness is akin to a currency to be eamed and spent. That if they spend their life striving to find that satisfaction in pursuit of what will make them happy: be it love, wealth, power, fame... and yet its never enough, is it? Even when we think we have everything we want, we still want MORE That's the problem. People have difficulty seeing the forest for the trees. Happiness is not a matter of entitlement. Its a matter of perspective. Its knowing that despite the inherent suffering in life, its still being appreciative of and content with the gifts and graces that have been afforded to us and that the actions we take are to honor that love and grace I think Jack understood that at the end. His worse fear was seeing his friends and loved ones simply become a memory. But in the end he realized that it didn't make them any less real, or their love and sacrifice that allowed him to complete his quest. And in a sense, as long as he remembers that fact and is ever appreciative of it, they will never truly be gone In that sense, I believe that Jack is the happiest man in the world
