Steven Universe - More Fusions

Given that the gem in the foreground resembles a sapphire, but isn't blue, I'd guess that this episode will be about a bunch of off-color gems – or, in what would likely be Homeworld's description of them: defective gems.
In fact, now that I think about it…the other two pearls we've seen have perfectly circular gems; meanwhile, our Pearl has a more oval-shaped gem. Perhaps Jasper calling her "defective" wasn't just a matter of her being a rebel. Maybe Pearl was literally defective, even thrown away like these fusions seem to be – in which case, she has quite a bit more in common with Amethyst than we previously thought.
