NeoGAF - Don't blame devs. Blame the cancerous fanbase.

While those Fan's may sound like, look like, and probably are Idiots. You can't really blame them for the fact that ND isn't making what you want. ND is going to make what they want to make, They aren't making these Cinematic games because "The Fanbase want's them" The are making these games because they Want to make them And/Or they bring in the dough.

I'm pretty sure that They are making far more money now then they were in the PS1, PS2 era.

Now I don't know much about ND as Devs so don't quote me on any of this, but if they are anything like other devs then odds are the people who made the games you loved on PS1 and PS2 might not even working at Naughty Dog anymore.
It just looks as if the Naughty Dog now is fundamentally different from the Naughty dog of the past. even if they wanted to make more platformers they might not still have the talent that made those Crash and Jack games.
