On a serious note: Dying Light, a game first released back in 2015, is getting a Battle Royale mode added in later this year. Rumors have also hinted Blizzard wants to add a Battle Royale mode to Overwatch in a major update at some point (Blizzard put out a job listing that they want a programmers who can work with vehicles in a first person game), and there's even rumors suggesting 343 Industries is gonna put a Battle Royale mode in Halo 6.

Can't say I'm surprised as a good chunk of the gaming industry always follows whatever is the biggest mainstream trend at the time (in the early 90s it was mascot platformers, late 00s it was military shooters, now it's Battle Royale game modes).

As long as at least some of em try to get creative with the idea, I won't mind. But if it's literally just translating battle royale game mode to your native mechanics and nothing else, then what's the point?
