No, calarts don't teach exactly "this" style, they are still a art school at it's best, the problem is when it comes to the animations class. You see, teachers are aware that the animation industry became soo cheap in the last 10 years that they advice their students that they have just two choices if they want to make 2d animation, or they go indie, or they promote themselfs by fiiling their portfolios with art that is easy and familiar to animate.
The real issue to blame is the new Toon Boom and lazyness, 2d animation takes too much time and money to conpete with CGI, so this "cheap" style was popularized by family guy, to find a medium between being able to affrod to make the show and still pay a decent casts of writers and storyboarders. See how every show today like family guys is made with vectors and simple shapes. If a artits promotes thenselfs like this, the leads on 2d animation todays like Nick, CN and Disney Channel will more probably give you a job, as oppositive to artists who make art too conplex and expensive for modern animation.
Calarts still does their beast to promote animation with effort and diversity, and they still teach classic animation and other styles, but like any other art school, they know that the industry is fucked, and the only way to make money is to play by their rules, or not play
