The reality is, is that these journalists" rarely go into the profession with covering video games in mind. They're either unlucky or just talent-less that they landed themselves a job within it, without also realizing that it's a complete dead end. There is no rising up from there. So you have people reviewing things that they don't actually care about or aren't involved in most of the time, and you can usually always tell which ones care about actual games, and which ones don't. Anything that's easy to review or experience will get 10/10, by virtue of it decreasing their workload. Many of these people see video games as a massive burden on their lives, which is an infection that is happening all across the critic industry, not juts video games. Gone are the days of genuine critics, now there is only market-testing and working a job you hate for a paycheck. If you go against the flow, you lose
