Sophie Cunningham Pointing or the WNBA Pointing Meme is a viral video and reaction meme of WNBA player Sophie Cunningham of the Indiana Fever pointing for an extended period of time at DeWanna Bonner, a player on the opposing team, after a physical incident with Fever player Caitlin Clark.
The game took place on June 22nd, 2026, and the video became the subject of memes over the following days. It was especially popularized on X / Twitter starting on June 24th, 2026, after X user @JerryWatkins22 posted a video of Cunningham pointing, inspiring a wave of memes that use the point to represent someone calling another person out for bad, lazy or unacceptable behavior, among other uses.
Origin
On June 22nd, 2026, the Indiana Fever played against the Phoenix Mercury in a WNBA game. The Fever won 86-77.
At one point in the game, Sophie Cunningham pointed at DeWanna Bonner and followed her around the court, refusing to break eye contact, after Bonner purportedly got into a physical altercation with Fever player Caitlin Clark, for which Clark was given a technical foul.[1][2]
The point went viral in the days after the game aired. For example, on June 23rd, 2026, X[3] user @JerryWatkins22 posted a clip of a forward-facing angle of Cunningham pointing, gaining over 3,200 likes, 600 reposts and 31.6 million views in six days.

The video of Sophie Cunningham pointing by X / Twitter user @JerryWatkins22 became the subject of numerous memes in June 2026, largely through quote-reposts, as the meme also spread on sites like TikTok and Instagram.

On June 28th, 2026, TikToker[7] @bonsaisports posted a clip of Cunningham talking about her viral meme and how it came about, garnering over 360,000 views in a day.
