We all try to protect her from how much the world sucks. We keep it all Barbie, pillow forts and Disney's The Descendants. But that's just us. That's how we do. We're also not bitter progressive doucheburgers served with soy cheese. For teachers in Connecticut who are doucheburgers, they think five-years-old is the perfect age for leftist exploitation. Thankfully, the teachers had some class (no pun intended) and didn't mention school shootings during playtime. The kids thought they were going outside to wave at cars. Update on 27 March 2018: Miss Katsetos' profile is still up, but she has either hidden or deleted almost all content after 2010. I suppose she didn’t expect it to blow up like this – two weeks ago it had been shared almost 300,000 times! The responses were divided. Most news articles and quite some users were kind to her – but a significant number of SJWs less so, suffering a hostile meltdown over what they denounced as victim-blaming and burdening students with the responsibility to prevent mass shootings. Nothing surprising, just the usual self-righteous hatred against people who dare to choose any other course than pushing for Gun Prohibition. What made this case notable in that regard was that the “Progressives” vilified a teacher whose crime consisted in encouraging direct, constructive, positive action over nasty, hysterical, astroturfed virtue-signalling. She did not even speak out against gun control, she just wanted to show Sixgraders what they can do personally to make the world a bit safer, kinder and better. Well, we can’t have that now in the current year, can we? 😉 From that angle, what she did was far more offensive to the Left than asking them about basic gun facts. What is happening in our schools is wrong, and scary, and sad, and yes, some things need to change But you must educate yourself before you can be an agent of change. ...I'm all about protesting for change, for justice, and being passionate about a cause; I'm not about blindly following the crowd in ignorance.

It's actually students conforming to the government authority by speaking a government-approved opinion in a government-approved venue. And that opinion is that they should have their own rights taken away by the government whose opinion they are expressing You have students marching with the sanction of the state to demand less freedom from the state... and everyone is pretending that their doing so is somehow brave and rebellious.
