Sally the Witch by Mitsuteru Yokoyama manga ran from 1966 till 1967 in Ribon, published by Shueisha original anime adaptation aired from 1966 till 1968 It is techinically pre-dated by Fujio Akatsuka's Himitsu no Akko-chan which also ran in Ribon from 1962 till 1965 However Sally the Witch was the first magical girl series to get an anime adaptation, with Himitsu no Akko-chan only getting an anime adaptation in 1969
