A kid suffering in another part of the world won't make your loneliness go away, won't solve your financial crisis, won't bring your dog back, won't give you WI-FI while you are bored and waiting at a line, and definitely won't make Brad ask you out for the dance instead of that whore Emily, or make your ship happen in your favorite anime.

Just because worse events put your problems into perspective does not mean your problems, minor as they are, stop being problems.
Knowing that there are kids out there being used as sex toys won't make the daily ostracization and harassment you suffer from your bully calling you names at the schoolyard any less hurtful. You are asking teens to think of their problems in a way that takes several years of maturity and first-hand experience to adults to understand.

Could you please allow people to worry about the problems that plague their own lives BEFORE asking them to consider their lives on a global scale, please?
