See, this is actually pretty smart. By intentionally making him look more like the cartoon version, it keeps him out of the uncanny valley instead of being this terrifying middle ground. As is I can't tell whether I am looking at Will Smith's actual face composited onto a cartoon, or a cartoon that is too realistic looking to the point of making me uncomfortable.
