Nowhere did we say that we should ignore shootings. It’s entirely counterproductive though to make the shooter famous because it motivates other people to do the same. This infamy is typically why the do it, because they have no other way to justify their existence.

People have been saying this for decades but nobody wants to do anything about it because tragedy sells.

When discussing Randy Stair, Mister Metokur offers an alternative to discourage future wannabe shooters: mock the ever loving crap out of each spree killer until no on wants to be remembered like a total loser.

Not sure if this would work either, but I say if there is anyone who deserves to be spoken ill of when dead, it's these spree killing assholes.
